Dry Conditions Return for the Weekend

Good Friday morning, Kentucky! Well, WABBLES for the most part missed out out on the snow again. We have reports of 2in in the Louisville metro and a couple inches south of us down near Nashville. Bowling Green continues to wait for its first measurable snow of the season as we are still sitting at a trace. Luckily, dry conditions return for the weekend.

Today

Our low pressure is slowly sliding off the east coast as more dry air gets entrained into the storm. We should begin to see dry conditions take over throughout our Friday.

Storm system is moving out. (COD)

A few snow flurries will be possible this morning but accumulations are not expected. Temperatures are sitting at or above freezing right now and pavements temperatures are above freezing too. Here is a look at radar as of 7am.

Radar at 7am this morning shows a few snow showers off to the west.

Future radar this morning shows most of the precipitation staying out towards far Eastern Kentucky and into the mountains. Dry weather is expected to persist throughout the day for WABBLES.

Temperatures will struggle to reach the 40 degree mark this afternoon. We may see a peek of sun, but most of the day will feature overcast skies. Winds will remain calm with still the chances for a few snow flurries.

Weekend Outlook

A bit more sunshine will return this weekend but the clouds are going to be really tough to fight off. Temperatures stay in the low 40s and upper 30s for afternoon highs. Conditions stay dry through Sunday. Here is a look at the cloud cover forecast through Sunday.

We will be in a consistent northwest flow through the weekend. This will keep our temperatures cool and skies cloudy. The next system to watch will be moving out of the Rockies this weekend. Areas of Texas are already under Winter Storm Watches.

Next system arrives early next week

We may be looking at another chance for some winter weather early next week as another storm system slides to our south. The model below shows us the chance for 1in of snow through Tuesday. Best chances right now will be just to our south and of course the mountains. Something to keep an eye on through the weekend.
