Clouds Will Be Hard to Get Rid of This Week

Welcome back to a new week, everyone! It’s the first Monday of the year. Only 51 more to go! We ended 2020 on a wet note, but 2021 will continue to be drier. However, clouds will be hard to get rid of this week.

Beautiful Winter Day Today

January is actually Bowling Green’s snowiest month on average, but you won’t be able to tell by today’s weather! Dominant high pressure today will keep any showers at bay, but some clouds are expected to stick around.

Under mostly sunny conditions with plentiful sunshine, temperatures will manage to reach the mid 50’s today. Honestly, that’s not too bad!

More clouds will move in during the overnight hours, but we look to remain dry despite them. Overnight lows look to drop into the mid 30’s.

Boring Weather for Tuesday and Wednesday

If you’ve ever wondered what the typical January weather is like, just wait for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Things will be quiet for the South-Central Kentucky region on Tuesday as we actually see some clearing and more sunshine. However, temperatures won’t be as warm in the mid 40’s. This is right at average for early January.

The temperature anomalies for Tuesday and Wednesday will be minimal, meaning our temperatures won’t be far from the average temperature for this time of year. (Pivotal Weather)

We can expect to see more of the same on Wednesday, but unfortunately with more clouds. Mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40’s will make for another quiet day for WABBLES.

A Change in the Pattern?

The potential for something different comes on Thursday as we see a low pressure system pass to our south. This will bring a slight chance of showers, and maybe even some snow overnight, to the region.

However, it doesn’t look like we will get a whole lot from it. Just enough to change things up! It could be welcoming, because the Climate Prediction Center thinks we won’t see a lot of rain in the near future.
