Good morning, everyone! I can’t believe Christmas Day is in just three short days. We will see some changes weather-wise before then, but for now, unseasonably high temperatures persist until Christmas Eve.
“The Great Conjunction”
Before we talk about the weather, I wanted to highlight the rare astronomical event that occurred yesterday evening. Jupiter and Saturn aligned closer than they have been in over 800 years.
I hope you were able to catch it, because a phenomena like this won’t happen again in any of our lifetimes! In case you missed it, here is a lovely photo that captured it thanks to a technology:
Dry, Pleasant Day
Today, conditions will stay on the calm side of the spectrum as the region is being dominated by high pressure. Skies will be mostly sunny as we climb to a high around 50 degrees.
Tonight, however, clouds begin to build and thicken as a cold front approaches front the west. We will stay dry as the low dips to 36 degrees.
Change of Pace on Wednesday
Wednesday, we will see some peeks of sun before we become mostly cloudy. In the late afternoon/evening hours, the chance for rain is increased. On top of this, due to the approaching front, the wind will also increase. Sustained winds are expected around 20mph with gusts up to 40mph. The day high will reach around 60 degrees.
Wednesday night, temperatures drop considerably to 30 degrees due to the passing of the cold front. Rain dominates most of the night with a few snow flakes mixed in. At the this time, little to no accumulation is expected.
Christmas Eve, things slowly start to clear with a high of 36 and for Christmas Day, we will see mostly sunny skies with a frigid high of 28 degrees.
