Historical White Christmas Chances for W.A.B.B.L.E.S.

As many may know, our wonderful section of the bluegrass state rarely sees any measurable snowfall to make for that so-called “White Christmas” that many people dream of. However, have you ever wondered what the actual statistical odds are? Well, for most people that have spent a significant amount of time living in south-central Kentucky, the answer might surprise you. The odds are actually higher than 0%, despite what many might think/say. The actual historical odds are between 5-10% on any given year according to NOAA.

So, what about this year? Well, unfortunately, mother nature won’t be doing us any favors this time around, as temperatures appear to be too warm for any precipiation that does fall to be accumulating snow, but there is a chance, albeit a slight chance, that snow may mix with a few rain showers during the timeperiod. Although for this to be considered a “White Christmas”, at least an inch or so of snow would need to accumulate, which seems very unlikely at this point.

Sorry guys! 🙁
