Rain Returns With a Few Flying Flakes Possible

Good morning, folks! I do hope your week is off to a great start. We kicked off the week with cloudy conditions around here yesterday and today will be a lot of the same before rain returns with a few flying flakes possible.

Dry, Cloudy Tuesday

Today we will stay dry despite the next rain maker approaching from the southwest. A large high pressure to the north is what we have to thank for one more day of dry weather, and the approaching system is what we have to thank for the cloud cover throughout the day today.

The high temperature will reach around 43 degrees today. Which is quite an accomplishment considering much of the region was sitting at 27 degrees this morning.

Turning Wet Overnight

As we head into the overnight hours, we will at first start off dry, but by midnight, see our first sprinkles. Things start off scattered, but by 3am, everyone is seeing widespread rain. Temperatures will stay above freezing hovering around 37 degrees which pretty much takes away out chances of seeing any transition to snow.

The rain continues into the day on Wednesday and looks as of now to be out of here by lunchtime. In terms of rain totals, I think most will see around a quarter of an inch. Although we will not see any accumulating snow, there lies a great chance to see some flakes and flurries mixed in with the rain so a slick spot is still possible here and there.

For my snow lovers, that’s better than nothing, right?

A look ahead shows that Thursday and Friday feature decreasing clouds and increasing temperatures before more rain moves into the region on Saturday, ugh.
