A Briskly Cold Day Ahead

Good morning to you, WABBLES! Were you bundled up enough yesterday to stay warm? We sure hope so! If not, we suggest you add another layer for today, as it’ll be even chillier.

We’re off to a Chilly Start

If you’re planning to be out and about in the early hours of the day, it might be a good idea to start the car well before you’re on your way out. Chances are, you’ll be facing both a wind chill and temperature in the lower 20’s. Just at the thought, I’m shivering!

Projected temperatures for this morning from 5-9am (Pivotal Weather)

As the year comes to an end, it’s important to prepare for extreme cold. This morning alone is a good start to doing so, as layering up is an absolute must. For more insight, below is a wind chill chart that shows how for this morning, frostbite becomes a threat within 30 minutes of exposure.

(National Weather Service)

As the sun rises, temperatures will do the same, reaching the lower 40’s by the afternoon. With the combination of sunny skies and little to no wind, it may feel slightly warmer than what it actually is. This will be short-lived, though, as things will once again cool down to below freezing as the sun sets.

Shower Chances Make Their Return

For tomorrow and into the weekend, high pressure will move out of the region, being replaced with a trough extending off of a low pressure system in the south. That means maximal cloud coverage and the chance for showers will make their return in our forecast.
