Prominent Showers Accompany Gloomy Trend

Good morning and welcome back to our page! That gloomy trend that we’ve had will carry on into the work week, much to our dismay. Today, we’ll actually start to see shower chances enter the forecast and stick around for the entirety of the day.

Here comes the rain…(Giphy)

The Rain Sets In

This morning, we may have a few stray showers pass through our area, these being brief and producing trace amounts of precipitation. By the afternoon, these showers will become widespread and will be present for the rest of the day. Make sure you wear a raincoat or pack an umbrella if you go out, because you’ll need it!

Projected reflectivity for 12-5pm (Pivotal Weather)

With these consistent showers, we are expected to have our fair share of rainfall. Throughout our area, the amount may vary anywhere from one half to one inch. As shown below, the Storm Prediction Center has us under a marginal risk for receiving excessive amounts.

As we’ve seen recently, the temperature won’t fluctuate much, with a high in the upper 60’s and a low in the lower 60’s. Because of the prominent showers in our forecast, moisture will be noticeable and we will have maximal cloud coverage. What a gloomy work week!

Tropical Update

Overnight, tropical storm Zeta has strengthened to a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center predicts that it will make landfall on the Louisiana-Mississippi border tonight. Below is a satellite view of Zeta as of the early hours of this morning.

Fortunately, Zeta will have moved through and out of the country by the weekend, making for a wonderful holiday forecast. So, don’t let this tropical cyclone change any of your plans.
