Delta Brings Rain Chances Ahead of the Weekend

Good morning and happy Thursday, Bowling Green! The weather over the past few days has been quiet, but that is likely going to change ahead of the weekend, thanks of course to the remnants of what is now Hurricane Delta.

Today Looks Pleasant!

While the chances for rain increase over the coming days, we do have one awesome weather day in store for us today across south-central Kentucky!

Temperatures will start in the low-to-mid 50s this morning, and rapidly rise to a very pleasant afternoon high of around 80 degrees. Sunshine will be plentiful later today, but fog (as some may notice) has been the dominate feature of the morning so far. Chances of rain today are very low, and virtually non-existent in nature.

Rain Chances Late Friday

Friday should be dry for the first half of the business day, however, by late afternoon the chance for a few showers cannot be ruled out, as Delta makes her presence known in the mid-south. Lows in the morning should generally be in the upper 50s, with highs topping out around 80 or so by the afternoon.

* Rain chances increase significantly both Sat/Sun. *

Hurricane Delta, and it’s Impact on the Weekend

DELTA THIS MORNING: As of 7 AM this morning, Hurricane Delta was located roughly 400 miles from the Louisiana Gulf Coast. The system was packing maximum sustained winds of 100MPH, making Delta a Category 2 hurricane. The mean sea-level pressure stands at 970mb, and the movement is northwestward at 15MPH.

SATURDAY: As Delta churns its way inland, it appears increasingly likely that we will receive fairly substantial rainfall from the remnants of this system. Saturday will feature mostly cloudy skies, and showers on and off throughout the day. Rainfall totals on Saturday alone could exceed one inch.

Lows Saturday morning will be mild, in the lower 60s, while temperatures climb modestly to an afternoon high in the low-to-mid 70s area-wide.

SUNDAY: Showers will again be the dominant weather story for the back-half of the weekend as well. Showers will be numerous, with a rumble of thunder or two possible as well. Lows will be in the middle 60s, and highs will once again be in the mid-70s.

* Total rainfall accumulations should generally be 1.5-2.5 inches with lower totals north/higher south.*
