Happy morning, everyone! Thank you for checking out our page. Today, conditions will remain somewhat consistent with what we’ve seen so far this week. We will be mostly dry, however, today will be the start of wet conditions for this week as storm chances make a reappearance in our forecast for this afternoon.
Storm Chances Pick Back Up
If you are out and about early this morning, please be cautious when on the roads. There’s a chance that you’ll run into some patchy fog. Don’t worry, though, because this threat will be no more as we move out of the early hours of the day.
Today, the presence of a trough over Texas, extending out over Missouri will bring about a change in our forecast. Say goodbye to completely dry days! For southwestern WABBLES, there’s a slight chance that you may even see a stray shower from the morning until noon because of this.
As a whole, we may see scattered storms develop within our vicinity around 2pm. These will have the capability of producing heavy downpours as well as gusty winds. Fortunately, they don’t plan on sticking around for long, as we can expect for them to move out around 7pm.
Other than that, we will see temperatures peak at 90 degrees mid-afternoon and dip to the upper 70’s overnight. Mostly cloudy conditions will be present throughout the day to offer some relief from the sunlight. However, there will be vast amounts of moisture in the air today, making for oppressive humidity.
The Latest on Laura
Currently, Hurricane Laura remains in the Gulf of Mexico and has her sights set on making landfall on the Texas-Louisiana border. The National Hurricane Center predicts that this will occur right at the start of tomorrow. As you can see, the remnants of Laura are expected to impact our area starting Friday and into Saturday.
Within this time frame, be prepared for a surge in precipitation that could result in one to three inches of rainfall. We can’t rule out the chance for even higher amounts locally. That means that localized flooding may be a possibility.
That’s all for today, folks! We hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. For more, follow us on our other social platforms (Twitter / Facebook / Instagram).
