A Stormy End to the Weekend

Happy Sunday, Bowling Green! I hope your weekend is going well, and that the heat hasn’t gotten the best of you just yet. Storms are expected to enter the picture to wrap up the weekend, along with what may be some of the hottest temperatures of the year late next week.

A Stormy Sunday…

After a relatively calm Saturday around WABBLES, scattered showers and thunderstorms will make a comeback for your Sunday. A few of these storms could be strong to severe in nature, but the predominant threat will be some larger hail and isolated damaging wind gusts. The tornado threat is virtually non-existent (however, not zero either). Highs are expected to top out in the upper 80s area-wide, after climbing out of the lower 70s this morning.

A Pleasant Start to the Workweek…

After an unsettled Sunday, Monday looks to be much quieter. Just in time for you to clock-in to work and start the week, mostly sunny skies and fair weather make a return to south-central Kentucky. Highs will top out in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. If you are lucky enough to be at home, don’t be afraid to hit the pool! Because those summer-like temperatures will be accompanied by that oh-so wonderful summer-like humidity too. Dew points will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s across WABBLES.

The End of the Week Will Be HOT!

As if temperatures in the Commonwealth haven’t been warm enough lately, things will only heat up even more so near the back half of the week.

As a ridge builds across the eastern two-thirds of the country, model guidance is suggesting the *potential* for some of the warmest temperatures of the year to arrive. Some models suggest actual-air temperatures to reach the upper 90s and low 100s, however, this is not a forecast as of just yet. This is due to some discrepancies in the data, and for the simple fact that this is still upwards of a week in advance.

Stay tuned for further updates!
