Happy Thursday, Bowling Green! After days of heavy rainfall and flooding issues, drier weather has triumphantly returned! However, along with it comes some of the hottest weather of the season. The heat is on!
No rain? Now that’s a change!
If you’ve been anywhere near this part of the Commonwealth lately, you are almost certainly aware of the excessive rainfall that has lead to ongoing flooding issues around W.A.B.B.L.E.S. Well relief in the form of sunny skies and drier weather is well on it’s way! Ridging taking place over the eastern two-thirds of the nation is to blame, thereby placing us under the influence of high pressure, which in turn is leading to a dry pattern for the coming days.
Things are heating up…
The ridging responsible for our drier weather is also going to be responsible for the uptick in temperatures across W.A.B.B.L.E.S. Heat builds in starting today, as high temperatures for the remainder of the week into the upcoming weekend climb into the low-to-mid 90s area-wide. Heat indices may approach 100 degrees at times during the afternoon hours each day, due in part to 65-70 degree dew point values.
REMINDER: with the copious Independence Day activities planned, please remember to stay hydrated and wear appropriate sun/UV protection!
Independence Day Weekend Outlook
As mentioned above, our current weather for the foreseeable future will be predominantly controlled by the blocking high/ridging ongoing in this part of the country. You can expect the weekend to be very similar to today, with mostly sunny skies, and hot, humid conditions. Highs will be in the 90s both on Saturday (4th of July) and Sunday.
That wraps things up for the day! Don’t forget to follow us onĀ Twitter, Ā Facebook, andĀ Instagram! Enjoy your Thursday, friends!
