After Dry Friday, the Weekend Turns Wet

We saw a gorgeous first half of the week with the sunshine interrupted by a rainy day on Thursday…we’ll get a quick break today before more rain moves in tomorrow. That’s right, after a dry Friday, the weekend turns wet.

Briefly Dry Friday

We’ll be drying out for our Friday as a weak area of high pressure settles into the region.

The moisture from yesterday’s rain will me moving into the mid-atlantic while the moisture for Saturday’s system has yet to arrive…meaning partly to mostly cloudy skies will grace our skies today.

Winds will switch out of the northwest but will be mostly light and not have much impact on our temperatures as highs top out near 70° or so for this afternoon. It is a good opportunity for some kind of drying out before more rain heads our way for the weekend.

Clouds start to increase overnight as our storm system ventures ever closer, lows only end up around 55°.

Soggy Weather Back for Saturday

Another weekend, another low pressure bringing rain chances through the Ohio Valley.

Ahead of the low pressure forming in the Mississippi Valley, we’ll see some moisture return and this will lead to some heavy rain for us.

Rain could begin as early as the morning as the low pressure approaches. This low pressure placement is key. If the low pressure tracks a bit further south right over us, things will be mostly a mild rain. If the low tracks a bit farther north, things could get a bit stormier around the area. We’ll keep an eye on it. Either way, we’re looking at a windy and gloomy day with a high near 65°.

As the low begins to depart later on Saturday night, rain chances will diminish as lows fall to about 50°.

Slowly Improving Sunday

As the rain continues to leave along with our Saturday low pressure system, we’ll watch our cloud cover slowly depart as well.

We’ll slowly see more and more sunshine overhead as the day wears on, with gusty northwesterly winds ushering in slightly cooler weather, with highs only ending up near 60°, though if the sunshine comes out a bit sooner, we could warm up a bit more.

Chilly overnight weather returns as mostly clear skies take over for the nighttime hours, with lows ending back up near 40°.

New Week Starts Dry, Becomes Soggy

We’ll still be basking in the sunshine behind the low pressure on Monday, with a gorgeous day as highs run back to near 70°. Rain chances increase as we head for midweek though, with a few storms possible by Wednesday as mild weather continues.
