After yesterday’s strong winds, rather large hail, and even maybe a funnel cloud, we’ll start to calm down into the weekend. I mean, sure, we’ll still see on and off rain chances for the next few days, but nowhere near yesterday’s active weather. In short, a soggy but quieter weekend ahead.
A Cooler and Cloudy Friday
By now, last night’s cold front has swept through the region, taking yesterday’s warmth and moisture with it and leaving clouds in its wake.
An area of high pressure will temporarily exert some influence over the area, keeping us dry but cloudy as leftover storms make their exit. With this cloud cover and northerly breezes, we shouldn’t see too much in the way of warming this afternoon. We actually probably already saw our high early this morning.
After the front moves through, temperatures should start to drop before leveling off near 50°, where we’ll stay through most of the day. Cloudiness continues overnight before we increase rain chances late overnight, settling back near a low of 40° or so.
Soggier for Saturday
Rain returns as a storm system sneaks toward us from the south for your day on Saturday.
Tomorrow won’t be a great outdoor day (I mean, beyond obvious reasons) as not only will we be dealing with on and off showers, but temperatures that won’t move a whole lot during the day.
Rain showers start to trickle in during the early morning hours but the bulk of the rain will come through during the daylight hours.
Just for the sake of cheering everyone up during such a gloomy forecast, I’ve elected to put in some of my favorite gifs.
In any case, rain chances should continue but begin to diminish into the overnight hours as we fall back to a low around 40°.
Drying (and Clearing?) Out Sunday
We’ll try to get the rain on out of here for your Sunday morning, but we can’t rule out a couple of leftover sprinkles.
We should be left with cloud cover by the mid-morning hours on Sunday, keep temperatures steady in the mid 40s…before maybe some clearing?
We could warm back into the middle 50s for highs should we see some of that sunshine peek on out during the afternoon hours. Unfortunately, another weather system is on this one’s heels and the clouds should return overnight as we dip to a low near 40° yet again.
Into the New Week
An active pattern continues into next week as wave after wave of showers and thunderstorms look to make visits as temperatures return to the 60s. We start near 60° or so on Monday before flirting with 70° by the late week timeframe just…unfortunately more storms look possible.
