Sunny and Dry Weather for the Weekend

Good morning, everyone! Glad you could stop by today. If you’re tired of the wet and dreary weather, I’ve got some good news for you. A pattern change is on the horizon, and it’s looking to bring sunny and dry weather for the weekend!

Finally…a stretch of sunny weather! (Giphy)

Chance of Scattered Flurries This Morning

Current temperature readings this morning are measuring in upper 30’s, but upper-air soundings show much colder air above the surface. A low pressure along the Gulf Coast is feeding moisture all the way up to Southern Kentucky, and in combination with near freezing temperatures, may produce some scattered light rain or flurries during the morning hours.

Temperatures as of 5 am this morning. It’s cold!

Anything that falls is going to have a hard time sticking, however, so impacts remain low.

We will start Thursday off cloudy, but skies will begin to clear as we go through the day. We should start to see the sunshine again by the afternoon hours. Temperatures will remain chilly today in the low 40’s, but with northerly winds blowing near 15 mph, wind chills will feel much colder. Bundle up today!

Weekend Warming Trend

By the time Friday rolls around, a strong high pressure will have made its way to our area of the country. This setup will keep most, if not all, clouds at bay, leaving us with sunny and dry weather for our Friday.

Even with the sunshine, temperatures will remain cool on Friday in the low 40’s, but much calmer winds won’t make it feel as cold.

Clear and sunny conditions make it to Day 2 on Saturday. The consistent sunshine will help temperatures warm up to near normal readings, around 50°, during the day. And with low winds, Saturday is looking to be a great February day in the making!

Sunday’s temperatures are looking to warm up even more into the mid-50’s. Sunshine will make its appearance over the first half of the day, but then clouds start will filtering back in ahead of the next rain-maker for the start of the new week.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy all the sunshine!
