Snow Flurries Possible to Cap Off a Wet Week

Good morning friends! Glad you could stop by this morning. After a very rainy past two days, we finally look to start drying out. However, winter is making its presence known. Snow flurries are possible to cap off a very wet week.

Light Showers Today

As this system finally begins to leave the region, precipitation will become lighter. Current radar shows the bulk of the rain well off to our east. However, models are showing some extra moisture sticking around and bringing us a chance of some lighter showers this morning.

Any rainfall should end by the afternoon, though. The combination of rain and clouds will help keep our temperatures cool, too, in the low 40’s.

Wintery Weather Possible Tonight

Winter isn’t done yet! As the low pressure continues to move towards the northeast, colder air will come in behind it. Lows tonight are looking to end up in the low 30’s. This is obviously important for snowfall to occur.

So far this winter, we’ve had the cold air present at times, but we haven’t had any moisture. This time, we do. Models are agreeing pretty well with timing, so right now we’re thinking the snowfall could start as early as 9 PM and end by 6 AM.

However, snow totals won’t be significant. Models are also agreeing that any accumulations will end up around 0.5″ once it’s over. As for impacts, watch for possible slick spots on roads during your morning commute Friday. Ground temperatures are currently in the mid 40’s, so that will make it difficult for snow to stick, but please still use caution.

Drying Out Begins

Once any snow showers end Friday morning, we can begin the drying out process. The precipitation may be gone, but the clouds will stick around for our Friday. Temperatures will also stay chilly, with highs in the mid 30’s.

A similar story is expected for Saturday. The stubborn clouds keep us covered and cool, with a high in the low 40’s under mostly cloudy skies.

We stay dry for the majority of the weekend before more rounds of rain move in for the new work week. Temperatures will begin an upward climb as well.
