Dry Conditions for Sunday

After a potent cold front brought steady winds and widespread rain, it has moved off to our east. High pressure is moving in today, leading to dry conditions.

Sunday Weather Outlook (WPC)
Sunday Weather Outlook (WPC)

Clouds will be hanging around for this morning behind the front, but no rain is in the forecast. Skies will gradually clear out today. We could see some sunshine by the afternoon hours. The clouds overhead will help keep temperatures slightly cooler as well, around 65ºF this afternoon.

Winds will also be much more relaxed today than yesterday. We can expect winds to stay under 10 mph and mostly out of the west. Skies eventually become mostly clear by the evening hours. Clear skies will help temperature chill to 45ºF with calm winds. With cool temperatures, clear skies, and calm winds, we should see some dense fog early Monday morning.

Sunny Skies To Start New Week

The fog will burn off as temperatures warm up during the morning hours on Monday. High pressure will still be impacting our area, but slowly moving off to the east to make way for our next cold front.

Under sunny skies, we will warm up to around 72ºF, with calm winds. We will be pretty close to normal temperatures as well. The normal maximum temperature for this time of year in BG is 68ºF, so the forecast is only slightly warmer. Overall, it’ll be a rather quiet weather day, which is needed after the soggy Friday-Saturday we had.

After the sun sets, skies will remain mostly clear through the overnight hours. Clear skies help temperatures be a bit cooler than nights with cloudy skies. Our low temperatures will bottom out around 48ºF, which is actually slightly warmer than normal as well. The normal low temperature is 43ºF. We won’t quite reach that, but at least we are close. Remember how much warmer temperatures were above normal at the beginning of this month?

Change Coming For Tuesday

We will start out our Tuesday with sunny skies, but clouds will be on the increase with the next cold front approaching. We should see partly cloudy skies by the afternoon, with temperatures around 73ºF. A cold front will be arriving during the afternoon hours, but it looks to dry out and we should not see any rain.

Temperatures will cool off Tuesday afternoon under increasing clouds. As we head into the evening hours, clouds will still be around. Winds will now be out of the north. Clouds will help keep temperatures a tad warmer, around 50ºF for the low. There is a small chance of rain, but the GFS and NAM keep us dry.

Early Halloween Outlook

Our next chance of rain comes on Wednesday The GFS keeps us mostly dry Wednesday until around mid to late afternoon. Overnight into Thursday however brings a better chance of some heavy rain showers.

The bulk of heavy showers come Wednesday night into Thursday morning. By 7 pm on Halloween, showers will be exiting, but could have some lingering showers during peak Trick-or-Treat time. After the rain exits, a cold air mass will arrive, possibly giving our first freeze on Friday morning.
