It has been a heck of a week y’all. The first four days featured new daily record highs, Tuesday (the first day of October) featured a new all-time record for the month…that was broken again the very next day. We get it! And that brings us to the good news: looking through the weekend, there are no record highs in sight!
Finally, A Comfortable Friday
Our wonderful cold front moved through the region yesterday and that has finally ushered in much more seasonal temperatures to close the week.
This cold front has taken the heat and humidity with it and we will see some wonderful weather today thanks to northwest breezes.
Mostly sunny skies continue for our Friday, but we’re going to end up with high temperatures right around 80º with rock bottom humidity values (compared to where we’ve been). It’s going to be a fantastic evening for Friday night football!
We’ll be close to 70º for kickoffs on Friday night before falling back through the 60s during game time…maybe approaching hoodie/light jacket weather by late evening? Either way, we’re crisp tonight, with lows falling to near 50º overnight.
Slight Warmup Saturday
Saturday, though, will feature some slightly warmer temperatures than we had today, but nothing like what we had earlier this week.
We’ll be gearing up for a disturbance that looks to finally bring us a little bit of rainfall by late in the weekend. But tomorrow will be dry.
We’ll be back above average, too, as clouds slowly increase. I mean, more clouds than sun, but the clouds will be on their way.
Highs will be right about 88º-89º. Above average? Yes. Near 90º? Yes. Better than 97º? Oh, you bet ya. Clouds increase overnight and that means overnight lows staying close to 65º, with maybe the chance of a shower by daybreak.
You Mean It Doesn’t Have to Be Sunny Everyday?
Sunday will be the first nice dreary day in awhile thanks to another front that will be on the approach. It’ll drop us back to seasonal averages and provide us a shot at some measurable rain.
As the front goes through, it might get a bit gusty before the rain moves on in. Plus, said clouds will leave us with seasonal temperatures near 75º during the afternoon. Speaking of the rain…we might be in luck, folks.
If the NAM pans out exactly (I mean, it won’t pan out exactly but there has been support in the models for around an inch or so by Monday morning), we would be receiving approximately 571% of last month’s rainfall in about a 24 hour span…which sounds like a whole heck of a lot until you remember that the September rainfall total at Bowling Green was 0.21″.
Our rain chances will start to go down overnight as we fall to around 55º.
Average Start to the Week
We keep the rain chances around for a little bit on Monday, but the big story will be the remaining clouds and comfortable temperatures.
We’re in the low 70s both Monday and for our much sunnier Tuesday. Overnight lows falling back to around 48º-50º each night. Back near 80º through the middle of next week, but I. Will. Take it!
