One More Fall Day Before Summer-Like Conditions Return

Welcome, friends! Glad you could stop by this morning. Just when we thought the cooler weather was here to stay, its not. Fall weather isn’t quite here yet, but we’ll get one more fall day before summer-like conditions return.

Cold Front Passes Today

We can thank cold fronts for giving us these tastes of cooler temperatures and shots at rain showers. It was warmer yesterday, but another cold front will move through today and bring us back down. Highs after it’s passage will end up in the low-to-mid 80’s with very dry dew points, making for very comfortable conditions.

Along with the cooler temperatures, some of us could have a chance at seeing some precipitation, too. Scattered showers are possible early this afternoon, especially through Logan, Simpson, and Allen Counties. Temperatures tonight will drop to a cool 60 degrees with clearing skies.

Heat Starts Building Friday

A high pressure will follow in behind the cold front as it passes on Thursday. As a result, temperatures will bounce back up to pre-cold front levels, so enjoy the cooler weather while you can. Temperatures for Friday look to return to the upper 80’s with winds flowing from the southwest. We return to drier weather as well.

Low overnight temperatures begin to rise also, so it won’t be as refreshing as what we’ve seen lately. Expect lows to cool to about 70 degrees Friday night.

Summer Makes a Comeback

Another ridge will begin to build over the Southeastern United States that will bring back the summer-like temperatures starting on Saturday. Temperatures look to jump to near 90 degrees during the day, which puts us back very above average for late September. Dew points rise as well to the upper 60’s, making it feel more stuffy than usual.

Ridges and high pressures are known for suppressing precipitation chances and keeping things dry. Dry conditions help daytime temperatures rise. Our hot and dry streak will start over this weekend and looks to last into the middle of next week, with highs right now looking to be in the low to possibly mid 90’s. We will watch this, though, and see what happens from there.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy the cool temperatures today!
