Rounds of Rain Bring Much Needed Cooler Temperatures

Good morning, everyone! So glad you could stop by. We survived the heat, but we’re trading the sun for some wet weather. However, cooler temperatures are on the way too. Rounds of rain to end the week bring us some much needed relief.

Heavy Rain Threat Today

A mid-level disturbance is currently generating some showers and thunderstorms to our north. As the system pushes east, we could start to see some scattered showers and thunderstorms develop this morning. We’ll get a break in the rain by the early afternoon hours before more storms develop in the early evening. There’s a lot of moisture in the atmosphere, so these storms also bring a threat for heavy rain. Be on the lookout for some localized flooding.

The clouds and rain will help keep us cool today with highs only reaching the mid-80’s. A big difference from a few days ago! Lows tonight will end up in the low 70’s.

Below Average Temperatures for the Weekend

Once this system passes, the wind will come from the north and bring much cooler and drier air to end the week. Friday’s highs will only get to about 80 degrees. The frontal boundary that will pass today will settle to our south, meaning Friday could see some scattered thunderstorms as well.

Friday night lows will cool to around a refreshing 60 degrees. We will start to dry out on Saturday as the front pushes further south, leaving almost fall-like weather behind. Highs will only get to around the 80 degree mark. I’ll take that!

More Rain for Next Week

A second round of rain is expected to make its way into the area Sunday night into Monday with a series of systems coming from Canada. Monday’s precipitation only looks to be scattered, but on Tuesday we could see a front move through. This will bring more cool and dry air with it, so our temperatures look to stay below average for the coming days.
