Sunny Weather Through the Weekend

Good morning, folks, and welcome to another wxornotBG morning update! Now that the “cold” front boundary has continued eastward out of our area, we will have sunny weather through the weekend.

Sunny, Mostly Dry, Maybe an Isolated Storm?

Storms pushed through our area late yesterday afternoon due to the passing cold front, but now that it has moved on, we should see mostly sunny skies today. With mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching 87º, we may see some isolated showers and storms develop late in the afternoon.

However, models are suggesting that most precipitation should stay east of I-65, but can’t completely rule out a stray shower. Best timing to see any development would be mid afternoon, in the 2-4pm time range.

For the evening hours, temperatures will dip to around 66º under partly cloudy skies.

Clear Skies

High pressure moves in and will help keep skies clear and dry.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies will lead to afternoon highs around 87ºF, with calm winds out of the north. We may see a few cumulus clouds (white and puffy) from daytime heating, but no showers are expected to develop. Overnight, skies will remain mostly clear, with a few lingering clouds and calm winds. Temperatures will drop to 65ºF.

Friday: Not much change in the forecast as high pressure will be sticking around. With mostly sunny skies, afternoon temperatures will max out around 88ºF, a tad warmer than Thursday. A few afternoon clouds may pop up, but again, no precipitation is expected. During the nighttime hours, temperatures will bottom out around 65ºF, under mostly clear skies.
