Weekend Warmup is on the Way

It has been a remarkably pleasant few days around south-central Kentucky. Temperatures (and humidity levels) well below what one would expect for late July under mostly sunny skies. While we’ll keep the rain at bay, a weekend warmup is on the way.

Just Another (Near) Perfect Friday

We’ll open the close of the work week with yet another cool morning low in the low 60s, perhaps a light jacket on the way out the door.

We’ll warm handsomely thanks to high pressure that’s kept us oh-so-pleasant beginning to shift off to the east, allowing warmer conditions to start moving on in.

For us, this means your Friday afternoon will stay dry, but slightly toastier than what we were dealing with earlier this week, with highs topping out around 85°. Humidity values won’t be off the charts but dew points will be slowly rising into the lower 60s through the day. Not overly muggy, but you’ll start feeling it.

Overnight lows fall back into the comfortable mid 60s again under mostly sunny skies.

Pool Weather For the Weekend

We’ve got the perfect weekend for you to hop in the old cement pond because we’ve got both temperatures and dew points on the rise.

For the day on Saturday, we’ll have southwesterly winds increasing their grip on the region, allowing temperatures to approach 90° during the afternoon hours.

Dew point values won’t be crazy either, settling in the low-to-middle 60s. It won’t be oppressive but you might start to feel it become a little more muggy out there. Luckily, heat indices won’t deviate that much from the air temperature. Overnight lows Saturday will fall back to around 68° under those same mostly clear skies, before we set up for a suspiciously similar Sunday.

Sunday will feature another high near 90° or so with dew points hanging right around that 65° mark. Not too hot or too humid. A rather average late summer day, truth be told.

We’re back close to 70° for an overnight low as well as we prepare for a greater surge in humidity to being the week.

Rain Chances Return?

By Monday, higher dew points closer to 70° will surge back into the area, bringing the muggy feel back ahead of a small wave that will attempt to give us a shot of rain by Tuesday or so.

Outside of that, things remain on the warm and muggy side with mostly sunny skies hanging around through the week with highs in the upper 80s to near 90°. Come on, you knew Spring in July wasn’t gonna last forever.
