Classic Summertime Pattern Continues

Gooood Sunday morning, folks! I hope everyone has been enjoying this hot weekend so far, because this classic summertime pattern continues to march onward.

Isolated Storm Sunday

As with the past several days, there really isn’t anything significant to break down for you. I am sorry to disappoint!

With a ridge of high pressure to our west, we’re seeing semi-hot temperatures daily and chances of storms. Today, there is a chance that we see a *little* bit more organized activity.

There is a very weak cold front in southern Ohio and central Indiana, and that will be sagging southward throughout the day. This may end up bringing more organized activity to the region, but I think it’ll force it more to our east.

Storm activity should be most organized to our east, but scattered storms are still possible here. h/t pivotalweather.com

Overall, another great day to hit the pool or whatever you do to cool off. Expect highs in the low 90s, with plenty of sunshine and an isolated to scattered storms.

Short Week Starts Hot

Monday and Tuesday will be….pretty much the same as the past several days.

On Monday, there are a couple of things to watch. That cold/stationary front may continue to push south across the state. This could set up a good area to force scattered storms during the evening.

With highs in the lower 90s and plenty of moisture, storms will have plenty to work with. As with this pattern, severe storms are not expected to be organized. There may be one here and there, but nothing like last week.

On Tuesday, that weak front may be hanging out across the region, but it probably will be weak enough to not be significant. Isolated storms are again expected during the afternoon.

Expect highs in…you guessed it! The lower 90s.

Will This Pattern Ever End?

At some point, yes! But our hope for that doesn’t seem to be coming soon. Your Wednesday and Thursday celebrations are looking very similar to this.

We may see more widespread activity that we have the past few days, but the story is similar and simple. Highs in the 90s, scattered storms, etc. Main threats are lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds.

I don’t foresee rain being a major issue at all, whether you’re celebrating the 4th on Wednesday, Thursday (the actual 4th), or Friday!

Well, that is all I have folks! Have a wonderful Sunday. If you have to be outside, be sure to take the sunscreen and stay hydrated! Follow @wxornotBG for the latest weather info.
