May is starting to feel more like July as summer heat and humidity bring chances for storms. Today features an isolated, pop-up storm threat while tomorrow carries a marginal (1/5) severe storm risk.
Hot and Soupy Today with Afternoon Pop-up Storms
We will be making another run at 90⁰ this afternoon with soupy dewpoints in the 60’s making it feel even hotter.
These hot and humid conditions could allow some isolated, brief, but potentially drenching pop-up showers for the late afternoon, so keep an eye to the sky today if you outdoor plans.
Marginal Severe Risk for Tomorrow
Good news: a weak cold front will keep high temperatures in the low 80’s tomorrow.
Bad news: tomorrow also brings a chance for severe storms and gusty winds.
Pack the rain coat tomorrow as standard issue showers and storms are possible throughout the day and evening with our chance of severe storms coming in the mid-afternoon.
Be especially alert of the weather tomorrow if you are planning to go boating since the strong winds associated with this system will make the waters on our area lakes and rivers quite choppy.
Cooler to Start Week Before Heating Back Up
Monday looks to be dry with a high in the low 80’s which is an excellent way to start our week. Unfortunately, Tuesday will offer another chance for storms before another heat wave strikes to end next week.
That’s all I have for today. Go enjoy this early summer weather and follow @wxornotBG for the latest updates.
