Good morning, folks! I hope your Saturday is off to a great start. Overall, it’ll be a pretty quiet weekend, but its worth noting that a few light isolated showers are possible later today. Let’s dive into the details.

Brief System Passing Through Today

We are starting our Saturday off with clear skies, but clouds will be increasing ahead of our next system. A low pressure system located over Missouri and Illinois will be dragging a cold front across our area, bringing with it some light isolated rain showers.

Luckily, this system looks to be relatively weak, so no springtime thunderstorms are expected. The HRRR model (below) shows that a few brief (and light) rain showers will be passing through the early to mid afternoon hours, mainly between 1 pm and 4 pm. Any rainfall will be minimal, so no major impacts are expected either.

As for temperatures, we can expect highs to reach the neighborhood of 68º – 70ºF, with winds mainly under 10 mph and out of the south. By the nighttime hours, we may even see some additional pop up showers from the cold front finally passing through.

These showers will be very isolated and brief, so it is possible that we stay dry. Timing of the shower chances is 11pm to 1 am tonight. Winds will finally turn to be out of the northwest, which will help drop our low temperature for tonight down to around 47º – 50ºF.

Beautiful Weather For the Coming Days

Even with the slight chance of some isolated showers today, it’ll still be a nice spring day. But, even better days are ahead.

Sunday: Good Day to Catch up on Outdoor Chores

Tomorrow will be a nearly perfect day to end the weekend. Our skies will be mostly sunny, with cooler temperatures. Thanks to that previously mentioned cold front, high temperatures are expected to reach a refreshing 65ºF.

Winds will remain mostly out of the northwest as well, staying below 10 mph. Once the sun goes down, temperatures overnight will drop to around 50ºF.

Monday: Much Warmer Temperatures

The start to the new work week will feature continued sunny skies, but much warmer. Winds will have turned to be out of the south-southwest, which will help raise our expected high temperature to around 80ºF. Thats quite a difference from Sunday, but still nice.

Winds will be a bit stronger on Monday as well, with wind speeds up to 15 mph possible. Since temperatures will be a bit warmer, Monday will be a good day to wash the car after work. Heading into the evening and overnight hours, skies should remain mostly clear. Low temperatures will dip to around 60ºF with much calmer winds.

That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Saturday and rest of the weekend! Make sure to look for the Afternoon Video Update on Facebook and the Afternoon Weather Story on Twitter/Instagram, only on @wxornotBG.
