Cloud cover is rolling in after a couple of nice days where we didn’t see hide nor tail of it. But its increase signals one thing: shower and storm chances return for midweek.
Dry but Increasingly Cloudy Tuesday
High cloud cover is already streaming into the area this morning.
Look for thicker cloud cover to develop and work it’s way in during the afternoon hours as a low and frontal pressure system out to our west barrels into the area later today.
I think our small chance for rain will hold off mainly until the evening hours. This, combined with southwesterly breezes this afternoon will allow temperatures to once again top out near 80º this afternoon. Altogether, not a bad day.
It’s not out of the question that you could see a stray shower this afternoon or evening, but I think the chance ramps up a little more as we head into the overnight hours.
Overnight lows fall to around 61º.
More Scattered Showers and Storms Wednesday
Clouds will take over as we had firmly into mid week and, yes, the possibility for more scattered storms ramps up, especially during the afternoon hours.
This will be one of the waves that frontal system, keeping us stormy through tomorrow. It’s not outlooked by the Storm Prediction Center, but we can’t rule out a strong storm or two tomorrow afternoon. We’ll keep an eye on it.
Highs will be a little cooler thanks to the cloud cover, topping out around 75º. Lows at night, with a continued chance for storms, once again finish near a mild 60º.
Plain Ol’ Showers for Thursday
The rain train never slows down, with more showers possible as we head into the day on Thursday.
That same storm system will be hanging around and giving us a rather soggy go of it.
Showers and storms will be off and on throughout the day. A constant rain? No. Steady rain in waves? More like it. With the cloud cover in place, we stay on the cooler side as highs only break about 72º. May want to keep an eye on those creeks and streams as well, with the repeated rainfall.
Lows overnight Thursday fall to 55º as rainfall begins to taper off.
Peering into the Weekend
Good news is a mostly dry weekend looks to take shape…but even that won’t be completely devoid of precipitation.
Friday will feature dry weather moving back in as we’ll be in between systems, mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 70s. Actually a rather comfortable day, lows fall to near 45º at night.
Saturday will feature a weak disturbance making a run at us and maybe throwing a shower our way. Highs in the lower 70s look to stick around with lows in the mid 50s.
Sunday will be slightly warmer but more of the same, with highs near 75º under dry skies and lows back in the mid 50s.
