Hello folks, dust off your umbrellas and rain coats as we have a wet and windy day ahead with storms possible this evening.
Wind Advisory Issued
Strap down that lawn furniture and apply more hair spray as winds will be very strong this afternoon and evening.
In fact, a Wind Advisory has been issued through tomorrow morning.
The good news is that temperatures will hang around a relatively warm 60 degrees all day.
Two main rounds of rains are currently being predicted by the high resolution models: the first round of plain Jane rain will occur in the early morning (7-9 am) while the second round will hit around sunset (4-6 pm) and could feature a line of storms. Severe storms are not expected but can not be totally ruled out at this point with the main threat being high winds.
Cold Front Arrives Tomorrow Evening
After a rainy night, a few showers may hold on through tomorrow morning while temperatures stay in the upper 50’s with light winds.
By tomorrow afternoon, a cold front will push through our region. By 9 pm tomorrow evening, temperatures will be in the upper 30’s, so grab the winter coat for any Friday night plans.
Chilly Weekend
Under the influence of high pressure, this weekend looks to be pretty chilly but dry with afternoon highs only reaching the mid 40’s and lows dipping below freezing each morning.
Another soaking low pressure system looks to add to this year’s rainfall totals on New Year’s Eve. The new year will likely be heralded by a cold snap which we have been fortunate to avoid so far this winter.
That’s all I have for today. Stay dry and follow @wxornotbg for the latest updates.
