Good morning folks, after last night’s rain, watch for wet roads on your morning commute as today’s showers ramp up to soggy weekend.
Scattered Afternoon Showers Likely Today and Tomorrow
Today and tomorrow’s storms could bring us some brief downpours and maybe a clap of thunder, so keep your rain gear handy. Temperatures will peak in the upper 80’s with very little chance of the storms becoming severe.
The ghost of Tropical Storm Gordon off to our southwest will be responsible for this moisture haunting our area.
Rain Chances Increase over Weekend
On Saturday a cold front will begin approaching from our west providing us isolated showers throughout the day and into the early evening. A nice benefit will be temperatures only reaching the low 80’s that afternoon under cloudy skies.
Overnight Saturday, a steadier rain will set in, and we will continue to have high rain chances on Sunday and Sunday night. Meanwhile, highs will only reach around 80 with a widespread 1-2 inches of rain expected to fall.
A Real Cold Front Clears Out Monday Afternoon
Minor flooding could result by Monday after several days of rain, but once the cold front finally leaves later in the day we should be looking at low humidity, clear skies, and temperatures in the 70’s. Next week might very well be our first taste of fall.
