Wonderful Weekend Ahead Before Rain Next Week

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday to all of you! I hope your week was wonderful, and that your weekend will be refreshing and relaxing. We are looking at a wonderful weekend ahead before rain next week!

Late Spring or Mid Summer?

Folks, it is nice out there. Did you get outside yesterday and feel the air? The humidity was low and the temperatures were fantastic!

I didn’t get to be outside long as I had a long drive, but it was certainly refreshing to feel a bit cooler and less humid air. Saturday and Sunday will feature more of the same!

This is all due to a cold front that race across the region and ended up forcing some severe thunderstorms over the northeastern US on Friday afternoon. The air mass behind this has left us with the pleasant weather.

With a nice trough of low pressure centered across the eastern US and another looking to reinforce it soon (we’ll get to that in a moment), we should continue to see this weather until Sunday evening. Expect highs in the mid 80s today and Sunday (84ºF-86ºF).

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with partly sunny expected tomorrow. There is a slight chance at rainfall for Sunday morning, but that doesn’t look high at this time.

Dewpoints won’t rise too much, either. They should stay in the upper 50s to mid 60s, creating wonderful outdoor weather. Great weather for a cookout tonight!

Rain Returns for Monday and Tuesday

The nice weather can’t continue forever, right?

It is lame, but that is okay. We need the rain! A trough of low pressure will approach the region by Monday night, and will bring an increase in cloud coverage during the day Monday.

Rain is possible for much of the day Monday, but the highest chances will be Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. We are expecting in the range of 0.5″-1.0″ of rain between Monday night and Tuesday.

The WPC has about 1" of rain forecast for the region during the early week. h/t WPC

Highs Monday afternoon should be in the mid and upper 80s (85ºF-87ºF), and only in the mid 80s on Tuesday. I expect the heaviest rain to exit by Tuesday morning, leaving scattered showers/storms for the afternoon.

Well, that is all I have! Have a great Saturday, and enjoy the wonderful weekend ahead before rain next week! Be sure to follow our real-time weather feed @wxornotBG for the latest.
