Good morning folks, today will feature a dry high in the upper 80’s before a powerful low pressure system brings severe storms likely tomorrow followed by wet weekend.
Dry Heat Today
Dew points will stay low through this afternoon making the upper 80’s feel bearable.
By this evening, winds will begin bringing up moisture from the south which will give us a slight chance of showers overnight.
Severe Likely Tomorrow
An unseasonable strong low pressure system will start moving into our region tomorrow with its cold front kicking off strong severe storms throughout our area before its arrival overnight Friday. Some isolated storms will form in the early afternoon, and more widespread storms are likely to form later towards the evening.
All the conditions look ideal for severe storms at this point. Damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes are each possible throughout our region tomorrow, so keep your phone charged to stay alert of the warnings in case you lose power. Today would also be a great time to form an action plan for where to take shelter if you are under a tornado warning.
Temperatures will reach the upper 80’s again tomorrow and feel very humid. These conditions will further power the severe weather expected tomorrow and tomorrow night before a “cold” front finally ends the threat Saturday morning.
Wet Weekend
Under a slow moving low pressure system, cooler temperatures and rain showers will dominate this weekend. Scattered showers are possible on both Saturday and Sunday with a high in the low 80’s.
