Howdy folks, get ready for one more baking upper 80’s that will stick around for one more day before a slow moving low pressure system moves in after tomorrow. This system will provide our region with a greater chance of rain and storms into this weekend leaving us with heat today, rain and cooler temperatures tomorrow.
Heat Today with Isolated Showers
Expect today to be hot and humid…again. Highs will jump into the upper 80’s with light winds.
Some isolated showers could form this afternoon especially in the northern counties of Butler, Warren, and Edmonson counties as a boundary approaches. These storms are unlikely to be severe and could continue into the overnight hours.
Rain and Cooler Temperatures Tomorrow into Weekend
Tomorrow, a slow moving system will move towards our region bringing an extended chance of thunderstorms all the way to Friday night.
Thursday’s storms are unlikely to be severe, but a few storms on Friday could feature hail or high winds. Between these two days we could get over an inch of rain on average, so keep the umbrella handy.
With all the rain, the highs tomorrow and Friday will be cooler in the low 80’s. It will be very humid still, but we will have cloudy skies and a nice breeze. Temps will drop further in heavy rain showers to near 70.
Rain Break Saturday, Rain Return Sunday
A “cold” front will sweep through early Saturday morning which should keep that day mainly dry, but with a high still in the low 80’s. Another shortwave low pressure system is likely to dampen Sunday with some scattered thunderstorms and a high in the mid-80’s.
That’s all I have for today. Follow @wxornotbg for the latest updates.
