Storms Likely Today
Hey folks, after our region dodged all the rain yesterday on the way to a 90 degree high, we will have a mix of storms and hot temperatures the next three days with better chances of rain today and Monday providing us a storms and heat fight for Memorial Day Weekend.
Today looks to have at least one round of late morning and/or afternoon thunderstorms pop-up across our region. This should keep our highs in the mid 80’s today behind the cloud cover.
Remember if you can hear thunder while enjoying the outdoors this weekend, you can be struck my lightning and need to head indoors. The good news is no severe is expected today and the storms will be scattered.
Isolated Storms and High Heat Indexes Tomorrow
Tomorrow will have a chance for isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. You may start hoping for one of these storms to cool the air off since heat indices will be in the low 90’s.
Memorial Day: More Pop-up Storms and Heat
On Monday it will once again be toasty and humid with highs in the mid 80’s, and some isolated thunderstorms will form over our region. At this point, it does not appear Memorial Day will be a washout for south-central Kentucky, and the temperatures will definitely be hot enough to enjoy hitting the pool.
Temperatures on Monday night will only drop to the low 70’s, and rain is likely to become steadier overnight due to Tropical Storm Alberto streaming more Gulf of Mexico moisture into our region.
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and follow @wxornotbg for the latest updates.
