Another April Day in the 50’s, Really?
Remember the mid-70’s yesterday, south-central Kentucky? They said goodbye with last night’s cold front, and we are starting this morning in the low 40’s across our region. With cloudy skies into this afternoon, temperatures will only reach the mid-50’s leaving us with another cool day, warming into weekend.
Big High Pressure Moves In
Here is the reason for the big chill today: a big high pressure system sitting over the plains which is dragging in colder air from the north into our region. The good news is that the next three days will be totally dry for our region with light winds. Expect overcast skies this morning before they clear off this evening.
Frost Tonight
With clear skies, light winds, and temperatures in the mid 30’s a frost is likely tonight. This frost is pretty late, so cover any plants you can tonight.
Temperatures Recover Tomorrow
Tomorrow the highs will reach the low 60’s with sunny skies. The high pressure will sit in the same spot for a whole day so the forecast is pretty easy. Lows tomorrow night will be in the upper 30’s meaning less and lighter frost.
Nice Saturday
Highs Saturday will reach the mid-60’s with no chance of rain as the high pressure finally starts moving west. If you are looking for a good spring weekend to head outdoors, this is it.
Also, no more frosts are expected, so everyone can finally start planting their gardens. Sunday looks to be just as nice as Saturday except with another cold front arriving Sunday night.
