Overall, a very nice end to the work week is expected. High pressure will move to the south of the region today, leading to the development of southerly surface winds. This will warm temperatures into the mid 60s this afternoon.

Gusty southerly winds will continue overnight. Partly cloudy skies are expected as lows drop into the upper 40s.

Warmer Thursday

High pressure to the east of the region and low pressure to the west of the region will lead to stronger southwest flow at the surface. Southwest flow regimes tend to warm us up quickly, thus highs will likely top out in the upper 70s. I do believe spring is finally here.

Overnight lows will drop into the mid 50s under mostly clear skies and gusty southwest winds.

Even Warmer Friday

A rinse and repeat forecast is expected on Friday. Strong southerly winds will once again warm temperatures into the upper 70s. Southerly winds may gust into the 30 mph range during the afternoon.

Clouds will increase during the evening hours as storms mature to the west of the region. A few showers may be possible late overnight as lows drop into the low 60s.

Looking Ahead

Thunderstorms enter the forecast on Saturday as a strong cold front approaches the region. A few storms could be strong. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted areas to the south of us for the potential of severe weather. This may be shifted around the next few days.
