Chilly Easter Forecast

Happy Easter! We’ll have a bit of a chilly Easter forecast to begin the month of April. A few showers will remain in the region this morning as a cold front moves to the east of the region. Additional rain may be possible this evening as low pressure moves to the south of the region. Highs will remain in the low 50s.

Rain will likely continue overnight as lows drop into the upper 30s to low 40s.

Chilly Monday

Another somewhat chilly day is expected Monday as high pressure moves into place north of the region. A frontal boundary will stall to the south of the region, meaning hit and miss showers will once again be possible Monday. Highs will top out in the upper 50s to low 60s during the afternoon hours.

A warm front is expected to lift through the region Monday night. This will lead to the development of more rain and gusty southerly winds. As such, Monday night lows will only drop back into the mid to upper 50s.

Stormy Tuesday

This makes way for quite a warm Tuesday. Southerly surface flow will continue while southwest flow is in place aloft. This will lead to afternoon highs in the mid 70s. My reaction to finally seeing spring-like weather in the forecast:

This may also make way for our next shot at strong to severe storms. Wind fields will be conducive to the development of severe weather while instability may lack some. As a result, the Storm Prediction Center has outlined much of Kentucky in a “marginal” risk of severe weather. Think of this as a level 1 out of 5 threat. This may be changed as the forecast changes.
