Calm Weather Settles into Southern KY for a Couple Days

Happy Sunday folks! Today is a good day, and is looking like a much better day weather wise. It will be nice to detox after what went down yesterday. Behind last night’s front, calm weather settles into southern KY for a couple of days.

Cloudy and Cooler Today

Clouds are socked into our region behind this cold front. Some upper level divergence was left behind the front, which is helping to force the clouds. Luckily, there isn’t any rain falling out of them right now.

Yep, those are clouds. Say hi to them because they’ll be around for much of today. h/t COD Weather

Those just to our north and west were hit very hard with flash flooding yesterday and last night, and it is very nice to have a break from the repeated rain, especially for them.

The clouds look to remain for the most part today. There may be some gradual or brief clearing later on today, but with another round of rain expected to move through regions to our south, the clouds don’t look like they want to leave.

This will keep us pretty cool for highs this afternoon. Highs should get to around 53°F or 54°F region-wide. Overnight, clouds will gradually clear, allowing us to fall to around 40°F for a low tonight.

Beautiful Monday

A surface high pressure system is forecast to dominate our weather by Monday morning and throughout the day. We are expecting clouds to be completely gone, and a wonderful, sunny day to result.

Highs tomorrow won’t be too warm, but I am seeing a high of around 59°F in the afternoon. It will be wonderful to have the sun shining for a whole day again!

With clear skies Monday night, the wake up on Tuesday will be a bit cool. Look for lows around 35°F.

Clouds Increase Tuesday Ahead of….Rain

Yes, the rain is included in that subheading. It is expected AGAIN by Tuesday night.

I’m getting pretty sick of rain at this point, to be really honest. This is not a welcome sight to sore eyes across our region.

Tuesday will feature warm temps and cloud cover gradually increasing. Highs will be right around 65°F in the afternoon, but the increasing clouds will put a damper on that.

By Tuesday night, we will have plenty of cloud cover ahead of the next weather maker. Rain will move Tuesday evening and night, and last into Wednesday.

The rain should move in sometime late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. h/t COD Weather
