We escaped yesterday’s severe weather with a few scrapes, but luckily, at this point in time, no significant damage has been reported in our immediate area.

The NWS Louisville office will be conducting three storm surveys today, in Ohio, Meade and Bullitt County. Peak wind gusts around our vicinity topped out between the mid 40s to low 50s.

The highest gust recorded yesterday was 53 mph at the Woodbury Kentucky Mesonet station in Butler County.

COLD End to the Weekend

High pressure is building in behind the cold front that turned winds out of the northwest after it passed last night. This has escorted in a much colder airmass, resulting in mid 30 temps this morning.

With persistent winds continuing, along with lingering cloud cover, highs this afternoon will struggle to hit the low 40s, with wind chills in the 30s. More sunshine is anticipated as we approach lunchtime, however, don’t let it deceive you.

Quiet, Cold Thanksgiving Week

There’s really not much to discuss regarding Thanksgiving week. Winds will turn back out of the south Monday and Tuesday, taking highs to the low/mid 50s.

A dry cold front will pass through late Tuesday, setting us up for a colder Wednesday and Thanksgiving. At the moment, guidance suggest early morning lows in the upper 20s, with highs scampering to the mid 40s.
