The Details

A cold front that brought us a few showers and storms late in the day yesterday is finally past us and it will give us a temporary break from the hot weather…I mean it’ll still be warm but not scorching.

The frontal passage will allow high pressure to begin to take control, turning our winds to the northwest, allowing slightly cooler weather and slightly lower humidity. A short reprieve from the oppressive stuff.

Prog chart valid for this afternoon. (Weather Prediction Center)

Today:  Mostly sunny skies with lower humidity and a high near 85º. Clear skies stick with us overnight for a low near 66º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 77°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 85°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 86°
  • Evening time: 🌤 80°

High pressure remains in control for Saturday but loses it’s grip a little.

Well, it appears the high will shift off to our east just a tad, not only introducing a southwesterly flow which will begin a return of the hot weather and humid air, but also allow a weak trough to enter the picture. The good news is since our air has been wrung dry lately, only a couple of showers may pop. So I’m saying there’s a chance…just not a big one.

The NAM isn’t impressed. (Pivotal Weather)

Tomorrow:  More mostly sunny skies with a slight chance of an isolated storm in the afternoon. High right around 90º. Under clear skies, lows at night around 65º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 69°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 85°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤/⛈ 90°
  • Evening time: 🌤 78°

Another area of high pressure takes over for our Sunday. And you guessed it.

This one sits much closer to us, allowing southwesterly flow to up the heat and the humidity. Dog days weather, if you ask me. At least the sun will be shining, right?

Sunday:  Mostly sunny skies, hot and humid, high around 91º or so. Lows at night under more mostly clear skies near 70º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 71°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 88°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 92°
  • Evening time: 🌤 80°

The Bottomline

  • Improvement today with slightly lower humidity.
  • Sunny again on Saturday with an isolated storm or two.
  • Skies stay mostly sunny, but hot and humid for Sunday.
