Discussion

First of all, how nice have the past few days been? I know we had a little rain yesterday, but a large part of the day was warm and breezy. I really like those kind of days, as the temp is warm enough to where the breeze doesn’t really cool you down too much. I hope that makes sense.

Secondly, the pattern looks very active over the next week or so. We may not see a lot of severe weather or storms, but I do think that we’ll see several rain chances over the next week. The storm systems continue rolling in and pushing out. Rolling in, pushing out, etc.

A current look at our weather pattern:

Today and Tuesday will be transition days between fast moving systems. We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies associated with both days, and highs jumping into the low to mid 60s. It is looking pretty boring on both days, but at least we’ll have time to catch up.

Tomorrow, though, is looking a bit crazy. Another trough of low pressure and associated surface low looks to approach us from the west during the afternoon and evening. As this occurs, breezy southerly flow and partly sunny skies should allow temps to rise into the mid 70s, with dewpoints in the low 60s.

This will create an atmosphere favorable for storms that could be strong to severe. With good wind shear developing in the evening, the threat for severe weather looks to increase. The primary threats are pretty typical; damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado threat.
