Yesterday’s Weather
Yesterday was a record breaking day! We set the record high for yesterday by 4 degrees, but we didn’t break the all time high record for November in BG, so that is a plus. Our high was 87, which is far too warm for November, but I guess I have to deal with it at this point. Hahaha.

Discussion
Wow, what a difference a couple of days makes in the interest of a forecast!
Just a few days ago (as in last Saturday), I was discussing how ridiculously boring the pattern has been. Now, the pattern looks just normal!
Of course, temps have been anything but normal the past few days. There was some thought that today would rival yesterday’s high, but I don’t see that happening today for a couple reasons. One, there won’t be southwesterly flow at the surface. Yesterday afternoon, there was strong southwesterly flow, and that warmed us up quick. Today, we will have winds from the south or south-southwest, which aren’t as efficient at warming our temps up.
Also: a trough is beginning to approach us, and this should begin to increase clouds across the region, and this will hold temps down this afternoon (relatively).
As we move into tonight and tomorrow, the general pattern features a deep trough digging sharply into the region, and pushing a cold front through around midday tomorrow.
Clouds will likely cover the sky for most of tonight and for most of tomorrow as well. Along the cold front and just behind the cold front, a band of showers is likely to move through as well. We won’t see a ton of rain (we need it, though), but it’ll be enough to be annoying.
After that front, though, Fall takes back its rightful place in the Meteorological world! Temps will spike into the lower 70s by midday tomorrow, and will then fall through the afternoon into the upper 60s.
Friday will see Fall weather. The new airmass that drops temps Thursday afternoon will be firmly established across the region on Friday. We should see mostly sunny skies, and cool weather. Perfect for some of the last Friday night football games of the season!
Today’s Key Points:
- Mostly cloudy and a bit cooler today
- Clouds increase tonight and tomorrow
- Rain showers likely tomorrow afternoon
- Highs will drop quickly behind the cold front tomorrow
- Friday-Sunday looks nice
