Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar
Yesterday’s Weather
Yesterday was interesting. Multiple rounds of showers and even some thunderstorms paid us a visit (and woke up yours truly, thanks Ma Nature), then we cooled off pretty fast. Bowling Green actually topped out at 80ºF yesterday then ended up with a half-inch of rain as a cold front swept through and shut the door on those summer-like temps…we hope.
This is what 0.48″ of rain looked like on campus today. Back to fall starting tonight! #WKU pic.twitter.com/hrWXvvqHAa

Forecast Discussion
A cold front moved through yesterday bringing us some much needed rain and finally dropped our temperatures to near fall-like levels.
The frontal passage is going to allow high pressure to build in through the weekend, keeping the skies mostly clear and the temperatures oh, so cool.
No, you don’t have to pull out your scraper just yet but temperatures will be heading down where we haven’t seen them in a few months…below the 40ºF mark.
The NAM-4K has us right at 40ºF, I still think we could see it dip below that, especially with the clear skies and light winds. Those conditions are ripe for a little bit of patchy frost to develop, especially in rural areas, so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, Saturday is going to be a terrific fall day. Sunny, crisp and perfect for WKU homecoming.
The same general theme will hold into Sunday, though the high will be a bit farther to the east, switching our winds back to the southwest and allowing us to warm up just a bit more, but not summer-like by any means.
Extended Outlook
Temperatures will gradually warm back towards the mid-70s by midweek but sunny skies will still dominate the weather picture. Moving forward, the data is trying to suggest some wet conditions towards next weekend and Halloween but it’s far too early to know for sure. For now, get out and enjoy the fall-like temps while you can! That just about does it for me!
