In only the second coolest thing I have seen all week (the first was the Phoenix microburst), twin waterspouts formed off of the coast of Hilton Head, South Carolina this morning.

These formed underneath of a thunderstorm that began rotating over the open waters off the coastline. It didn’t come ashore, so it was merely picturesque. Waterspouts are merely tornadoes that form over water. Occasionally, they move onshore and cause damage as tornadoes. Luckily, this one just stayed over water. Check out some of the images that flooded Twitter this morning.
