Wednesday, April 27 – Showers & Storms – High 83˚ / Tonight – Showers & Storms – Low 63˚
Good morning, Bowling Green! Severe weather struck the state of Kentucky yesterday afternoon and evening with the worst occurring to our north and northwest. By the time the system reached Bowling Green, heavy rain and gusty winds were the main concern. Oh, and pollen… Lots of pollen.

Although this system has since pushed eastward, the remnants it left behind will help create a boundary for storms to fire from today. We’re currently in a break from the rain, but it will definitely return later on today, so keep that umbrella handy.
Southerly winds will allow temperatures to push back up into the 80s today, with plenty of moisture to work with. With dew points in the 60s, it will definitely be feeling muggy out there again today – so prepare yourself.
The warm, moist air; upper-atmosphere lift; presence of instability; and the remnant boundary, we could see more strong storms roll through today. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us in a Marginal Risk of severe weather today, with areas to our west in the Slight Risk category. If these storms do form and strengthen once the atmosphere has had time to warm up, we may see some strong winds with the potential for hail.
The latest high-resolution models show storms firing up early afternoon, with another round coming through during the late afternoon/early evening. As these storms fire and push eastward, they will weaken. The chance for showers and storms will continue into the overnight hours, but will become more scattered in nature.
Thursday, April 28 – Iso’d Storms; Partly Sunny – High 82˚ / Thursday Night – Becoming Clear – Low 57˚
Temperatures will continue to stay above-average Thursday, with highs back into the 80s. We may see some isolated storms pop up in the afternoon, but nothing as widespread or severe as the last few days.
We should start to see some breaks in the clouds due to high pressure beginning to build back into the area on Thursday. Strong southwest winds at the surface will become calm during the evening and overnight hours, as skies begin to clear.
Friday, April 29 – Partly Cloudy – High 79˚ / Friday Night – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Rain Chance – Low 60˚
Friday is the first day in several days that we’re not expecting rain! So we will definitely end on a good note. High pressure will keep us dry for at least a short time, with winds at the surface becoming light and variable.
We’re expecting partly cloudy skies, with temperatures a few degrees lower than what they have been. However, a warm front at the surface will push our next chance for rain into the Bowling Green area Friday night with more showers and storms expected throughout the weekend.
