Warm Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Wednesday, 12/9- Increasing Clouds – High 59˚ / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 42˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! For those of us at WKU, we made it to “dead day”! And for those of you not taking finals this week (lucky ducks), making it to Wednesday is always a welcomed accomplishment.

Now whether you’ve enjoyed the weather or are dreaming of snow, the temperatures for the first part of December have been unusually warm! According to the National Weather Service, we’ve only seen one day so far this month with a high temperature in the 40s (December 3rd, high of 47°).

Every other day, temperatures have reached into the 50s and 60s; the average high for this time of year is right around 50°.

These warmer-than-average temperatures will continue to stick around today and throughout the forecast period. We’re talking temperatures at or around 70° by Saturday!

Today, we may see a slight chance of rain showers as a shortwave moves through our area. This disturbance does not have much moisture associated with it, so most of us will remain dry. However, increasing clouds and a slight chance for a shower or two later this morning  into midday is not out of the question. The majority of the rain chances will stick to our east.

As far as temperatures go, we’re looking at highs in the upper 50s to right around 60° thanks to southerly flow. Lows tonight will drop into the low to mid-40s.

Thursday, 12/10 – Partly Sunny – High 62˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 50˚

Thursday will bring us back into the 60s temperature-wise. Fairly pleasant day expected, but definitely not one that we would imagine for December 10th! As we prepare for the holiday season, or are already celebrating (Happy Hanukkah!), those sweaters and boots may feel a bit toasty by mid-day.

Partly sunny skies will stick around Thursday with high temperatures in the low-60s. Lows overnight will remain very mild, with temperatures only dropping to right around the 50° mark!

Friday, 12/11 – Slight Chance for Showers – High 66˚ / Friday Night – Slight Chance for Showers- Low 60˚

As we sit in strong southerly flow for the next few days, temperatures and moisture levels will continue to increase. By Friday, a slight chance for scattered showers will be back in the picture beginning mid-morning, and continuing into the evening. Temperatures will be very warm on Friday – we’re talking temperatures in the mid-60s – but the warm up doesn’t stop there!
