Hot, Hot, Hot Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 9/2 – Mostly Sunny & Humid; Iso’d Pop-Up Possible – High 93˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 70˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! You have successfully made it through the first half of the workweek – Labor Day weekend will be here in just a few days! It’s only the second week of classes here at WKU and I think I can speak for many students in saying that a little break would be nice right about now…

On a different note, yesterday began what is considered “Meteorological Fall/Autumn“, which runs from September 1st to November 30th. It didn’t feel very fall-like out there, however, as we saw temperatures hit 92° by the afternoon. These warmer-than-normal temperatures will continue to stick around for the next several days, as will the very muggy dewpoints.

An overall ridging pattern in the upper-atmosphere may be broken up by a few disturbances the next few days, but any rainfall will be very isolated as was the storm that popped up over Bowling Green yesterday afternoon. Keeping that umbrella handy may be a good idea just in case any of these storms decide to pop up in the heat of the day.

With Bowling Green hitting 92° yesterday, 93° definitely looks plausible today. Overall, highs in the low-90s for south central Kentucky with dewpoints approaching 70°… Sweaty.

Temperatures tonight will hover around the 70° mark under partly cloudy skies.

Thursday, 9/3 – Mostly Sunny – High 92˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 70˚

So for Thursday… Take what I just said and read it again. Persistence forecast! While it may be “easy”, man is it boring. Just see how my fellow contributors felt about this weather yesterday. And the day before.

With the exception of maybe a pop-up or two over the next few days, we’re looking at some hot, humid, and mostly sunny weather to kick of September here in Bowling Green. Temperatures will stay pretty much the same, with the exception of a degree or two for the high.

Lows Thursday night will drop to about 70° once again.

Friday 9/4 – Mostly Sunny – High 91˚ / Friday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 70˚

To kick off the long Labor Day weekend, the weather looks the same. Surprise?

This hot, humid pattern will continue over the weekend with some isolated pop-ups possible in the afternoon. If you’re looking to soak up that last weekend on the lake or pool, the weather will definitely be cooperating. Because even though it may be “Meteorological Fall” conditions are definitely staying true to the astronomical summer.
