Wednesday Morning Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 5/20 – Clouds Increasing – High 74˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Showers & Storms – Low 52˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! I hope the students at WKU have been able to enjoy the first few days of summer, especially with the beautiful weather we experienced yesterday. Thanks to that cold front that moved through late Monday, the air has definitely had a nicer feel to it, with less humidity and cooler temperatures.

Today is expected to begin mostly clear, but clouds will be on the increase this afternoon as a shortwave disturbance moves through the area. Precipitation chances will come into play later this evening and into the overnight hours, with isolated showers and storms expected.

As far as temperatures go, highs will range throughout the state with Bowling Green reaching the mid-70s by the afternoon. Temperatures tonight should hit the low 50s as winds pick up from the northwest.

Thursday, 5/20 – Partly Sunny – High 68˚ / Thursday Night – Partly Cloudy & Cool – Low 47˚

More calm, cool, and collected weather will make its way into our forecast beginning Thursday as zonal flow becomes dominant in the upper-atmosphere. High pressure will keep us dry throughout the rest of the forecast period, so you can forget that umbrella – at least for the time being.

Temperatures Thursday will be much cooler than average, with highs struggling to make it to the 70° mark. It’s definitely not pool weather, but those aren’t supposed to open up until this weekend, right? Lows are expected to drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s Thursday night; so even though it may be summer to some of you folks, don’t be caught off guard!

Friday, 5/21 – Mostly Sunny – High 73˚ / Friday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 55˚

Temperatures will begin to warm back up on Friday, with a warming trend continuing into the weekend. Clouds will also start to clear out, allowing for mostly sunny skies to end out the workweek. It will still be several degrees cooler than normal, but not a bad day at all!

What you can expect for your Memorial Day weekend will be coming up here in the next few forecast posts. As for now, remember an umbrella tonight, and enjoy the cool weather for the rest of the workweek!
