Yesterday afternoon and evening, a shortwave moved across the southwestern US and into the Texas region. This encountered a fairly unstable environment across the region, and sparked off some severe thunderstorms, including one epic supercell. This storm traveled a long distance, and produced several tornadoes along its path.

The supercell just barely moved to the south of Ft. Worth last night, dropped a tornado and remained nearly stationary over the area. According to NBC News, some reports claimed the tornado to be “over a mile wide” in some spots. Significant damage was reported with the storm itself, but luckily there were no injuries to be reported.
