The area of low pressure that moved through Kentucky over the weekend is currently located near the coast of Newfoundland, but our region will continue to see cold air advection occur today in the wake of the system. Despite northerly winds, expect high temperatures to reach the mid 60s under partly sunny skies.

A chilly night is in store tonight with low temperatures bottoming out in the middle 40s under mostly clear skies.

Tuesday 4/28 – Partly Cloudy – High 66˚ /Tue Night – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Showers – Low 46˚

Tuesday looks to pan out much like today with another beautiful day in store. A slight rain chance will enter the forecast Tuesday night, as a trough in the jet stream to the west of the region will send an area of low pressure moving eastward along the Gulf Coast.

Southern Kentucky will be right on the edge of the area of moisture north from this low. Clouds will increase overnight with a few light rain showers possible. Most of the rainfall will stay south of the KY/TN border during this time.

Wednesday 4/29 – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Showers – High 65˚ / Wed Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 48˚

The area of low pressure will continue moving to our south during the day on Wednesday and a few showers will be possible throughout the day. Any precipitation should be light with rainfall totals under 0.1″.

As the low moves farther east overnight, expect any shower activity in the area to come to an end with skies remaining mostly cloudy overnight.

That’s all I’ve got for this morning, enjoy the beautiful weather today and follow @WxOrNotBG, @wkuCHAOS, and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter for frequent real-time weather updates.
