NWS Louisville Storm Surveys

Strong to severe storms were seen across much of Kentucky yesterday. These storms left behind a swath of storm reports across the northern part of the state and in southern Indiana. The SPC storm report map for yesterday shows tornado reports in red, damaging wind reports in blue, and hail reports in green.

Folks from the NWS office in Louisville embarked on storm surveys in Perry County, IN and Madison County, KY to investigate damage from reported tornadoes. The storm surveys found that an EF-1 tornado occurred just north of Branchville, Indiana with two tornadoes (EF-0 & EF-1) occurring near Richmond in Madison county.
