Will Southern Kentucky See More Snowfall?

Despite the recent stint of warmer temperatures we have seen in southern Kentucky over the past week, Winter has not necessarily come to an end yet. Let’s take a look at some of the average “last dates” for various Winter phenomena in Kentucky.

The average date of the last 32-degree temperature (freeze) in the spring for Warren County is April 10-20.

The average date of the last 36 degree temperature (frost) in the spring is April 20-30.

Bowling Green’s last trace of snowfall usually occurs on March 16, so it looks like we may have put the snow behind us. Or maybe not…Bowling Green’s latest snowfall on record occurred on April 30, 1908 when 1.0″ of snow was recorded. We will just have to wait and see if there will be any last shots of cold air over the next month.
