Bowling Green Weather Going Mostly Blah

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 3/12 – Partly Cloudy; Windy – High 67° / Tonight – Isolated Showers – Low 58°

After high temperatures yesterday indeed topped out a couple degrees above what models predicted (but we nailed it), I’ll continue that trend in today’s forecast. We’ll be under the influence of meager southerly flow aloft, but at the surface, southern winds could gust as high as 20 mph. This will help keep those warmer temperatures around.

All in all, another excellent day is shaping up with highs around 67° across the area. We should remain under partly cloudy conditions through the day with perhaps a few more clouds showing up by sundown.

Tonight will bring isolated showers to the region as our next rain maker is on the doorstep. Lows will hang out in the upper 50s.

Friday 3/13 – Rainy; Mostly Blah; Dumb – High 63° / Fri Night – Rainy; Mostly Blah; Dumb – Low 57°

Some great weather is in store for the region on Friday…is what I would say if I were forecasting for say southeastern Florida. But, I’m not. Our weather will consist of mostly blah conditions. Yes, we’ll remain quite warm across the area as our southerly flow continues. However, rain chances will really ramp up on Friday. Yeah, I know it’s dumb, that’s why it’s in the forecast.

A shortwave trough will continue to advect moisture and warm temperatures northward into the region from the Gulf of Mexico. Precipitable water values will be in and around 1.5″, which is anomalously given the time of year. Translation: There’s the potential for a lotta watta to fall from the sky. Rain, heavy at times will be likely throughout the day on Friday. Highs will remain in the low to mid 60s. Total rainfall of around 1-1.5″ seems likely.

The mostly blah conditions will remain on Friday night as lows drop to around 57°.

Saturday 3/14 – Scattered Showers – High 65° / Sat Night – Isolated Showers – Low 42°

By Saturday, our low pressure system should begin to move to the east of the region. However, we’ll be left with some scattered showers throughout the day. Highs will feel pretty nice, so be sure to find some way to enjoy them (foreshadowing). Highs should remain in the mid 60s.

Saturday night will bring a general diminishing rain chance as the system moves to the west. Lows will drop back down into the low 40s.
